Inspired by a Small, Fragile Thing
Bonta Apparel began in an unlikely way.
The moment that set Bonta's course happened in a cardiologist's office in 2022. As I watched my heart beating on the ultrasound monitor, with its symphony of tiny moving parts in action, A sobering thought struck me, how miraculous yet fragile the human body can be, and how much care and support it required. If I cared so much about what went into my body, what I ate, what I drank, what I breathed - why had I never questioned what I put on it?
After two years learning about and sourcing fabrics from around the world, I knew the industry's dirty secrets - the shortcuts - mainly the higher levels of toxic chemicals being woven into garments that millions wear against their skin for 12+ hours a day. That night, I made a decision that would eventually become Bonta: to create an athluxury apparel line I'd want my family and friends to wear.

As I imagined Bonta, I realized that the world didn’t need another pair of shorts — it just needed a better pair of shorts…and shirts…and leggings…and the rest of your wardrobe.
